Experience a night of superb culinary feasting. The main courses will get anyone's salivary glands flowing. Must trys include the mutton do piazza and the prawn korma.
You'll find many traditional North Indian favourites here. The vegetable samosa is a fairly substantial starter although some of us found it a little salty. For main course, the house speciality, malai kebab - chicken marinated in a creamy cheese sauce and grilled in the tandoor - scored a hit, and the fish tikka passed muster. A choice of biryanis is available; the chicken Shah Jehani biryani has a pleasant, not overly rich flavour. There are also a variety of rotis to choose from; the tandoori roti and the garlic naan are particularly good. Two vegetable dishes that go perfectly with these are the gobi masala, cauliflower cooked in a mildly spiced sauce, and the shabnam baig, a mild mushroom curry. Those concerned about the level of spiciness of the dishes will be pleased to note that dishes are helpfully tagged from one to three stars, denoting the range of spiciness. Should you have room for dessert, the usual North Indian sweets are available. The rose-flavoured kulfi piyala, and the rasmalai, a creamy dish flavoured with almonds, pistachios and cherries, are good choices. Round off the meal with the milky, mildly spiced masala tea. |
